A top pro-life organization sharply criticized Planned Parenthood’s lawsuit challenging the newly enacted “One Big Beautiful Bill” legislation that cuts off an estimated $500 million in taxpayer funding to the abortion industry.
Signed into law July 4 by President Trump, the One Big Beautiful Bill immediately halts federal funding for groups that perform or promote abortion, striking a significant blow to Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider.
In response, Planned Parenthood filed suit on July 7 in an attempt to block the law, ABC News reported.
According to its lawsuit, “losing the ability to choose a Planned Parenthood Member health center as their Medicaid provider will be devastating for Medicaid patients across the country.” The group also said that without Medicaid reimbursements, many of its clinics, services, and staff would likely have to shut down.

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, a leading pro-life political group, condemned the legal challenge, accusing Planned Parenthood of clinging to taxpayer dollars while neglecting internal reform.
“Planned Parenthood’s desperation is showing as they run to the courts again to fix a crisis of their own making,” said Katie Daniel, the group’s director of legal affairs and policy counsel. “Time after time they rely on unelected judges to bail them out of trouble, rather than fix deep systemic problems internally, like the botched procedures and substandard ‘care’ exposed in a horrifying New York Times investigation.”
Daniel argued that the lawsuit also reveals a deeper problem with the organization: “[T]hey cling to their abortion business, prioritizing ending babies’ lives over keeping their funding to provide real health services.”
CatholicVote previously reported on the significance of the One Big Beautiful Bill, calling attention to its impact on Planned Parenthood’s financial and political power. The legislation marks one of the most substantial pro-life policy wins in recent years by targeting the revenue stream that has long supported the abortion lobby.
“As Planned Parenthood doubles down on lawfare and abortion politics, they prove exactly why the One Big Beautiful Bill is a historic victory for the people,” Daniel said, later adding, “Life is winning and the nation’s abortion giant won’t be missed as their long decline continues.”
