Planned Parenthood Abortion Businesses Merge in Florida, May Push Another Radical Amendment

According to the Naples Daily News, the Planned Parenthood (PP) merger into one large statewide organization designed to “strengthen its mission.” According to officials with Planned Parenthood they state, “the merger consists of merging Collier and Lee counties and counties surrounding Orlando with Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida based in West Palm Beach.”

Planned Parenthood said their “vision is now focused on bigger, better, and bolder.” This merger makes one unified Planned Parenthood of Florida.

Florida Right to Life can only imagine what they mean. Do they mean kill more babies, raise more money, or gear up for another pro-abortion amendment since, thankfully, the radical Amendment 4 failed this past November? One thing we know for sure, they will be looking to raise money as all Planned Parenthoods are reeling since they lost their funding on a national level.

Recently, after the “Big Beautiful Bill” passed and PP lost their funding (nationwide); they sued and declared that “that provision is unconstitutional.” This comes on the heels of the U.S. Supreme Court decision dealing with a South Carolina law defunding all Medicaid funded services performed at Planned Parenthood, and not just abortion services.

The Supreme Court, in a 6-3 decision, upheld the right to not fund Planned Parenthood and that there is no right to public (Medicaid) funds. They missed the memo when they sued on an already settled issue in the Nation’s highest court. Currently, they have a 9-week temporary injunction issued from a Massachusetts court that was hand-picked for the wrongfully decided temporary injunction.

Planned Parenthood made 2.0626 billion dollars cited in their 2023-24 annual report and continues to fight for our tax dollars to fund their agenda. Of course, when you dig deeper into their funding you see that 49% comes from government grants (that is you and me). No wonder the ongoing fight for our tax dollars is the target regardless of a decision from the nation’s High Court!

The Supreme Court also ruled on June 27th that federal judges do not have the authority to issue nationwide injunctions. This was also a 6-3 decision. Again, the pro-abortion left never let an annoying little Supreme Court decision get in the way of their agenda!

We, at Florida Right to Life, as the state’s oldest pro-life organization fighting abortion, euthanasia and infanticide will continue to monitor Planned Parenthood and be ready for the next fight!
