Trump Disables Biden Web Site That Promoted Abortion

The Trump administration wasted no time today making its first moves to undo the damage Joe Biden caused in four years as president.

Trump’s first pro-life action today came in the form of disabling a pro-abortion web site Biden created to promote killing babies in abortions. The website, reproductiverights.gov, was launched by the Biden administration in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe and promotes ways babies could be killed in abortions.

Leading pro-life advocates have made suggestions for several other things Trump can do quickly to promote life.

Here are five Pro-Life things Trump can do through executive power:

1. Defund Overseas Abortions

In 2017, the Trump administration blocked roughly $9 billion in federal funding for abortions overseas. Biden rescinded the Mexico City Policy in 2021, giving tax dollars to international organizations that kill preborn babies. Every Republican president supported the Mexico City Policy since its inception in the Regan administration. Restoring this measure will protect Americans from funding abortions overseas.

2. Defund Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion business in the country, killing 392,715 children from 2022-2023. That’s 1,076 lives ended per day. Yet, it received nearly $700 million in taxpayer money that same year. While the organization’s legitimate health care services (like STI tests and cervical cancer screenings) have declined, abortions have increased, and Planned Parenthood raked in more tax funding. President Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) could target the abortion group. DOGE chiefs Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy wrote in the Wall Street Journal, “…DOGE will help end federal overspending by taking aim at the $500 billion plus in annual federal expenditures that are unauthorized by Congress or being used in ways that Congress never intended, from $535 million a year to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and $1.5 billion for grants to international organizations to nearly $300 million to progressive groups like Planned Parenthood.”

3. Restore Abortion Pill Regulations

Democrat presidents abused the Food and Drug Administration to expand abortion since 2000. Bill Clinton first instructed the FDA to skip its normal safety screenings in order to approve the drugs mifepristone and misoprostol to cause abortions. Under President Obama in 2016, the FDA extended the use of abortion pills later in pregnancy, from seven weeks to 10 weeks, despite the increased risk of complications. In 2021, the Biden-led FDA removed the requirement for pregnant women to visit a doctor in person, authorizing mail-order abortions. President Trump could direct the FDA to restore safeguards on mifepristone or even urge the agency to revoke its approval of the abortion drug entirely.

4. Release Imprisoned Pro-Life Activists

Joe Biden’s presidency has been marred by the weaponization of the justice system against political opponents. Among the ugliest examples is the arrest of 12 Pro-Life activists. A 93-year-old grandma, a 33-year-old mother of two, a Holocaust survivor, and other Americans were sentenced to 11 years in prison for protesting at abortion clinics. At the same time, the Biden administration ignored violent crimes committed by pro-abortion advocates after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Trump has the authority to pardon these Pro-Life advocates.

5. Undo Biden’s Extensive Abortion Policies

Biden sought unprecedented methods to increase abortions after Roe. He authorized Veterans Affairs hospitals to commit abortions, instructed the Office of Refugee Resettlement to pay for abortions and travel expenses for detained immigrants, and attempted to hold Medicaid funds hostage from emergency rooms if they didn’t kill preborn babies. Trump can reverse these policies.
