Royce Hood, CEO with Action for Life recently hosted a live X space via X.com (formally Twitter) to discuss the new short film called The 21. The 21 is an animated short-film that tells the story of the 21 men who were executed by members of ISIS for refusing to renounce their faith in Jesus Christ. For those who do not know, an X space is a live event similar to a radio broadcast which is hosted on the social media platform known as X.
Royce was joined by executive producer Jonathan Roumie (who portrays Jesus in The Chosen) and Mark Rodgers who is the creator of The 21. Lisa Wheeler from Carmel Communications also joined the space along with CatholicX influencer Diana Henry. The X space was promoted by a number of other influencers from social media including Sachin who has amased nearly 200k followers.
The story behind The 21 is tragic yet incredibly inspirational. The producers of the Film were able to investigate never before heard details about the victims as well as their captures. The 21 men were kidnapped by ISIS and tourtered repeatedly. They refused to renounce Jesus.
One story in particular is astounding: A victim known as Matthew from Etheopia was actually not Christian but kidnapped by ISIS by accident. ISIS attempted to free Matthew after they learned he was not Christian. Matthew refused to be let go, declaring "their God is my God."
Since hosting the live space, the 21 has been viewed nearly 1 million times!
